Introduction. Rational systematic muscle loads stimulate blood flow in internal organs, dilate arteries, eliminate hypoxia in vital organs, minimize the risk of thrombosis [1], which is especially important in hypotension.
The aim of the study is to assess the impact of daily swimming lessons on the physical abilities of students with hypotension.
Methodology and organization of the study. 29 young students who suffered from hypoxia during their lives were examined. By a random method, these students were divided into control and experimental groups. The control group (15 persons) underwent rehabilitation according to the scheme traditional for rehabilitation centers in Moscow: regular group classes on therapeutic physical culture and training on simulators twice a week with recommendations on rational nutrition. The experimental group (14 young men) daily engaged in swimming in the pool in a free mode for at least 40 minutes a day. The groups were observed for three months. The examination was performed initially and at the end of the observation.
The results of the study and their discussion. During swimming lessons, the boys of the experimental group increased the heart rate by 18.5%, while in the control group – by 9.0%. In both groups, a decrease in respiratory rate was noted, more pronounced in the experimental group (24.3%). The participants of the experimental group normalized the values of systolic and diastolic blood pressure due to their growth by 22.4% and 24.5%, respectively. The indicator of the orthostatic test during the study improved in the control group by 27.1%, in the experimental group – by 74.6%. The value of the Rufier index decreased during the observation period, but normalized only during swimming lessons. In the experimental group, its level decreased by 2.4 times, while in the control group it decreased by 45.2%.
Conclusion. Students suffering from hypotension have obvious asthenia. Regular daily swimming classes in a free mode provide physical development and strengthen the cardiovascular system more effectively than traditionally used for hypotension physical activity.
