Psychological characteristics of orphaned children: to the question of the development of «social sport»

Objective of the study was to identify subjective factors of psychological support for orphans and children left without parental care in the context of social sports practices.
Methods and structure of the study. Volosovsky district orphanage No. 1, Leningrad region, Volosovsky district, Kalozhitsy village, acted as an experimental site. The survey involved all children currently in the orphanage, namely 12 children, average age 12.7 years, including 7 girls (average age 10.6 years), 5 boys (average age 14.8 years). All examined children of the orphanage were engaged in various sports sections organized by interests in an educational institution.
Results and conclusions. A study of the psycho-emotional state of orphans showed that, despite playing sports, there is a reduced level of working capacity both in the group of boys and in the group of girls, as well as increasing rates of excessive excitability and anxiety in the group of orphans. Thus, timely psychological informing and psycho-education of coaches and teachers is one of the most demanded areas in the comprehensive support of social sports.
