The visually highlighted changes that led to a certain transformation of the combat pattern in fencing on rapiers require further documentary scientific confirmation, expressed in figures in the process of research of competitive activity. A visually readable partial departure from the classical technique of weapon possession exposes the contradictions between the basics of training novice rapiers and the technical and tactical improvement of qualified athletes. Taking into account the above, there is a need for professional discussion of specialists regarding the age stage of transition from basic school techniques of weapon possession to the development of attacks with a completely different geometry of movement with a rapier.
