Objective of the study was to determine the level of physical fitness of students in comparison with the normative indicators after self-isolation.
Methods and structure of the study. The pedagogical experiment was carried out during the period of self-isolation at the Branch Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Severodvinsk, within the framework of which independent classes in physical culture were organized. Students were offered various sets of exercises for flexibility, exercises aimed at developing strength, coordination abilities, aerobic exercises, improving posture, etc. The study involved 72 people - 1st year students, boys (n = 20) and girls (n=52 people). Among first-year students, 46.3% belong to the main medical health group, 32.6% to the preparatory health group, and 11.5% to the special medical group.
Results and conclusions. During the distance learning period, there was a decrease in students' motor activity, which was confirmed by the results of running, jumping, and technical exercises. Most of the recommended sets of exercises were not sufficiently learned at home. According to the authors, the maintenance of physical activity and sports form by some students became possible due to their personal motivation to engage in physical culture in sports, despite the conditions of disability.
