The aim of the research is to search for methods of management and control over the range of average values () of students ' body weight in the framework of specialized physical education of young people.
Methodology and organization of the study. The study period is the academic year (September 2018 – June 2019). The participants are relatively healthy students of the 3rd year of full-time education (2020/2021) in various fields and specialties. Number of subjects: 109 (boys (n = 52); girls (n=57)). All students gave their voluntary consent to participate in the study. At the beginning of the study, the body weight was: in boys – 74.62±4.23 kg; in girls-53.28±3.44 kg. Physical education classes for students were held within the framework of specialized physical education: young men were engaged in athletic training and martial arts (boxing, freestyle wrestling), girls were engaged in fitness aerobics and athleticism. To achieve the goal of the study, students were asked to monitor their body weight indicators during the school year. The maximum permissible deviation from the initial body weight was allowed by no more than 1.55-2.15 kg at the end of the study. The control procedure was carried out by the method of regular weekly weighing of students (scales TB-S-60.2-A1, Russia). The obtained values were summed to determine the body weight at the end of the study.
The results of the study and their discussion. At the end of the study, a tendency to increase body weight in the studied students was found. Body weight indicators increased in boys to 75.89±1.37 kg, in girls-to 55.16±1.22 kg. 32 people significantly exceeded the permissible range of body weight fluctuations, on average by 3.41±1.73 kg. However, most of the subjects (38 boys and 39 girls) managed to fulfill the conditions of the study – to control body weight during the school year in the range defined by the authors.
Conclusion. Regular monitoring of students ' body weight values during the academic year allows you to regulate fluctuations in the body weight of young people in the acceptable range.
