The article analyzes benefits of a new beginner flexibility training model for the 9-10 year olds in the modern women’s rhythmic gymnastics. The model testing experiment was run at sport schools in Moscow, with 30 beginner rhythmic gymnasts of this age group sampled for the tests. The test data and analyses give the grounds to conclude that the relatively short (4 month) training model testing experiment timed to the gymnastics basics learning and training stage showed a moderate but significant progress in many ratable flexibility aspects and parameters. It was further found that the achieved flexibility rates may show some regress the training process is stopped, albeit the specific parametric joint flexibility indices may still vary in a wide range. The coaching teams are recommended to design and manage the training process in the relevant specific training stages so as to counter/ mitigate such flexibility regresses (with the relevant detriments to the other physical qualities), particularly in the beginner and transitional training periods; and reasonably combine the most efficient training models and tools to secure progress in special physical qualities and skills. The training systems shall be customized to the known inertia of the flexibility trainings to offer a wide spectrum of high-intensity and controlled-time trainings for the still deficient flexibility aspects and ensure that the specific training tools are effectively combined for progress.
